A less-than-perfect experience.
Plastic surgical nurses frequently work with pediatric patients who have physical or cognitive differences. In a society that puts such high value on physical appearance and perfection, these children are vulnerable to discrimination. Parents and children look to the plastic surgical nurse for support and acceptance.
