Market-based planning for a successful PPO.
The preferred provider organization (PPO) is rapidly evolving as an innovative, cost-reducing alternative to traditional provider modalities. Literature to date, however, has devoted little attention to opportunities and risks associated with PPO development. The authors address PPO development strategy, recommending a market-based planning approach which matches hospital resources with market demand and other environmental forces.
