The authors report their experience (13 years) with circa 130 operations and over 300 exercises on corpse-penes. From 1966 till 1972 the authors used an unilateral device, with inconstant good results. 1972 to 1975: a bifurcated penile implant made from Teflon with better results, but without firm proximal footings; (76 patients). 1975 to 1977: 73 cases = 26 with the new developped penile implant with one-way articulation and 11 with modified Small-Carrion penile implants. These modern protheses can create a true "phallus" = 130 to 150 mm long. The implants with one-way articulation guarantee solid posterior footings (very important for immissus in vaginam). The technique with the 3 approaches (perineal, praesymphyseal and distal) is described. The presence of a rigidified big penis was no problem for the patients, as long as it can be bent at its base, painless and efficient = potentia satisfaciendi. In doubtful situations the indication for operation should be settled by a team of specialists.

The presence of fourteen inframicrobial agents was investigated by the immunofluorescence technique using specific antisera on 345 samples of arteries and veins collected during operation from patients with chronic vascular diseases (arteritis, varicosity) and on 50 samples of umbilical cord. Results indicated a positivity rate of 75.45%; most of the cases had associations of two to five antigens. Coxsackie A virus and mycoplasmas were the agents most frequently found.
The immunofluorescence technique using antisera against some viruses and inframicrobes allowed the detection of pathogens in altered vascular tissues (arteritis and phlebitis-phlebectasia). Pathomorphological aspects and some dehydrogenase activities in these patients were also investigated.
In the light of our more than 24 years long experience, the original method of varicose veins surgery without stripping is analysed on 1236 patients operated during the latest year, out of the total number of 5,501 patients operated during the last 5 years; a statistic analysis is made and the advantage of the surgery without stripping are highlighted. The characteristics of the method are underlined, such as:--surgery at sight without bleeding, minute procedure with multiple incisions which, since they are located in the cutaneous folds, disappear in time, rendering this method also an aesthetical character,--the clinical exploration, prior to surgery, renders useless the paraclinical explorations in the case of the essential varicose veins.
