[Lymphographic and clinical studies following arterial reconstruction in the aortoiliac area and the extremities].

Lymphography was carried out in 41 patients after arterial reconstruction in the aorto-iliac territory or in the extremities: 13 of these patients had been examined pre-operatively. In addition to lymphography, the circumference of the limbs was measured. Lymphographic changes and oedema could be demonstrated in all patients, the extent depending on the type of surgical intervention. There was correlation between the extent of lymphatic damage and the oedema. The duration of post operative oedema depended on effective regeneration of the lymphatics; according to the severity of the surgical injury, regeneration was largely complete from 12 weeks to six months after surgery.

[Anti-D sensitizations in the Leipzig District recorded in 1980 and 1981 and their relation to IgG-anti-D(Rh0) immunoprophylaxis].

In 173 female anti-D-carriers the course of sensibilization found were analysed with respect to Rh-immunoprophylaxis with IgG-anti-D(Rh0). By subdividing into groups before and after introducing Rh-immunoprophylaxis since 1971 the consequences of anti-D-sensibilization are pointed out after Rh-incompatible transfusions, with neglect of treatment and with legally not required treatment in Rh-negative female patients. In addition, failures are analysed. Further problems are presented by the group of prenatal transplacental haemorrhages appearing as late sensibilizations in pregnancy and raising discussions at the time of immunoprophylaxis. Those examples of the course of immunization being particularly evident are represented as descriptors in the form of "sensibilizing chains".

[Problems in the preparation and testing of anti-human globulin sera with regard to their use].

The problems in manufacturing and testing A.H.G. sera with regard to their application are presented. The sera offered at present do not answer the requirements wanted. Therefore, the properties of the A.H.G. sera to be demanded in practice are presented and the methods of manufacture, the criteria of testing them, and the results thereof, as well, are presented.

[Preservation of Coombs' serum in liquid nitrogen].

Experiments with Coombs-sera as raw and usable sera having different levels of titre were carried out in order to examine their stability in fluid nitrogen. Therewith, significant differences concerning the storing stability did not appear. Generally seen two third of the sera retained their initial titres at the end of one year in store.

[Does the HLA-system enrich our possibilities within the scope of sterility diagnosis?].

Since the HLA antigens were discovered there were great advances especially in organ transplantation, paternity test and human genetics. --It follows the question after the relevance of HLA antibodies as a reason for infertility. --Bachner, Stolp and coworkers estimated a high frequency of HLA antibodies in infertile women. --In contrast we found in our own investigations: 367 unselected women with undesired infertility showed HLA antibodies in none of the cases.

[Determination of methyl parathion (0.0-dimethyl-(p-nitrophenyl)-thiophosphoric acid ester) and metabolites in animal material and in feed].

A new thin-layer chromatography method was developed to detect parathion-methyl (0.0-dimethyl-0-p-nitrophenyl phosphorothioate) and its metabolite methyl-paraoxon and the degradation produce p-nitrophenol in samples of animal and plant origin. Coupling with Bratton-Marshall reagent, as used in colorimetry, was employed to detect the compounds on the chromatography plate. Pretreatment of the samples was simplified by preparing a crude extract and separating unwanted substances from the pesticide compounds by thin-layer chromatography.

[TAS method for the detection of methyl parathion (0.0-dimethyl-(p-nitrophenyl)-thiophosphoric acid ester) and various transformation products in organic materials].

A simplified TAS method was used to determine parathion-methyl (0.0-dimethyl-0-p-nitrophenyl phosphorothioate), methyl-paraoxon and p-nitrophenol in samples of animal origin and in foodstuffs. These substances were isolated by thermomicropartition in the TAS oven, with immediate uptake of the condensate on thin-layer plates. Identifications was done directly from the sample or from the residue of a crude extract. After partition by thin-layer chromatography, the compounds were rendered visible by coupling with suitable amines. By means of the TAS method it was possible to detect 2-4 ppm parathion-methyl and methyl-paraoxon, or 3-4 ppm p-nitrophenol directly from samples, or 0,05-0.10 ppm of the first two compounds and 0.1-0.5 ppm of p-nitrophenol in the residue of extracts.
