[Synovial hemangioma of the knee joint. A case report].

Synovial hemangioma of the knee joint was diagnosed in a young woman 15 years after the first signs. The principal clinical manifestation involved repeated episodes of hemorrhagic joint effusion. MRI is the exploration of choice for this vascular tumor of the synovial membrane, although a pathology study is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Cure is achieved with surgical resection.

Treatment of hemoptysis by embolization of bronchial arteries.

One hundred and four patients presenting with either massive or repeated hemoptysis were treated by embolization of the bronchial arteries with a resorbable material (Spongel). The procedure was performed via selective catheterization of the abnormal arteries. Forty-nine patients were treated during and 55 after hemoptysis. Of the 49 patients treated during hemoptysis, immediate arrest of bleeding was affected in 41 but 6 of these patients suffered relapse two to seven months after the procedure. There was no recurrence of bleeding in the remaining 35 patients.

Congenital spondylolysis of cervical vertebrae with spondylolisthesis anf frontal narrowing of the spinal canal. Report of two cases.

Two cases of cervical spondylolisthesis, due to a congenital defect in the pars interarticularis of C6, associated with spina bifida and elongation of the contralateral pars interarticularis, are reported. Tomography showed an abnormal direction of the articular facets of C6 and demonstrated a narrow frontal diameter of the cervical spinal canal at the level of the malformation. Gas myelography showed a slight compression of the cord. Unlike previously reported cases the patients had neurological findings which, in one case at least, were certainly referable to the spinal cord.

[Bronchography in children].

In spite of improvement in the exploratory techniques of the respiratory tract, tracheo-bronchography preserves numerous indications in the study of children's congenital or acquired bronchopneumopathies. The main indications of this investigation consist in the detection of bronchectasies or in the exploratory study of chronic and relapsing bronchial diseases. The investigation makes possible to precise the severity of the disease, to value the results of the medical management and, at last, to select the patients amenable to surgery. Another indications are to be found in the appraisal of some malformative broncho-pneumopathies, with special reference to lung hypoplasias and sequestrations. The technical conditions of the investigation have largely benefited of short duration general anesthesy and of various material improvements (televised fluoroscopy, orientable catheters of small calibre).
