Renal cell carcinoma with solitary metastasis detected at the time of diagnosis has been much discussed and its excision is considered to achieve favorable results. Herein we describe a patient with a solitary pulmonary lesion coexisting with a large renal cell carcinoma. The patient was submitted to radical surgery and the pathological analysis revealed a benign pulmonary tumor with no relationship to the renal cancer.
We report a case of TNM stage II renal carcinoma with metastasis to lungs, contralateral adrenal gland and skin within 5 years following nephrectomy. The patient underwent lobectomy, adrenalectomy and cutaneous excision biopsy. The clinical course and management of metastases are discussed.
Three cases of prostatic abscess are presented, clinically diagnosed, and verified through transrectal sonography. The diagnostic methods and treatment performed are commented on.
The study of one case of a 'typical' testicular seminoma (1.2 cm in diameter) allows us to observe its association with extensive intratubular germ cell tumor (IGCT) and its correlation with a progressive sclerosis of the seminiferous tubules. Based upon this case, and after verification of morphologic, histochemical and immunohistochemical identities between the IGCT, the interstitial neoplastic cells and those from the seminoma, we speculate on the interrelation between the IGCT, the germinal testicular tumors, and the 'burned-out' tumor.
A 15-year-old male patient with a ten day history of fever and GI symptoms that had been diagnosed as having a suprapubic mass was referred to the Urologic Emergency Unit. Patient work up revealed acute urinary retention and appendiceal abscess.
Rectal invasion in prostate cancer is an uncommon clinical finding to which little attention has been focussed in the literature. However, it can represent important clinical (rectorrhagia, tenesmus and obstruction), diagnostic (confused with rectal cancer) and therapeutic problems. We report two cases of prostatic carcinoma with rectal invasion, one at the time of presentation and the other during the course of the disease, that illustrate the problems associated with this form of neoplastic spread.
This paper present the case of a patient with orchioepidimiditis quickly evolving to scrotal fistulization. The study of the orchiectomy piece showed testicle malacoplakia.
