[The problem of the reproducibility of occlusal contacts].

To perform target orientated therapy simulators of condyle movements (CPS) have been introduced recently. It is believed to improve analysis of jaw by computer aided registration and evaluation systems (i.e. transformation of the true axis and jaw movements for use in articulators). Although the electronic evaluation systems helped to improve our understanding of the movements of the jaw, up to now the reproduction of physiological and pathological movements and their therapeutic changes have not been solved satisfactorily. The reason is sometimes miscorrection of system inherent projection errors. Additionally, numerical analysis and changes of the registered pathological movements are restricted to certain limits within the articulators for therapeutical purpose.

Dental Articulators↗

[Occluso-articular functional diagnosis].

The guiding factors of the movements of the mandible are dealt with, and problems arising in simulating these factors on an articulator are discussed. A technique for measuring the dimensional behaviour of the mandible during moving is presented, and the influence of this phenomenon on the determination of the terminal position of the hinge axis is discussed.

[Aspects of prosthetic therapy in deep bite].

The authors deal with the peculiar aspects of prosthetic treatment in case of deep bite. The possibilities of bite-raising depend upon the functional conditions. The necessity is determined by secondary changes in jaw relation and by the kind of treatment. Any correction of the occlusal position must consider the relationships of the anterior teeth.
