[Analysis of medical decision-making in pregnancy (author's transl)].

A study was conducted into 451 pregnant women who made use of Act No. 242 (GDR) in various phases of their pregnancy. Age, existence or absence of children, occupation, and shift work were obviously of no statistically significant effect on the time at which women decided to take advantage of the legal provision on sheltered jobs. It is expected, however, that some of the characteristics, such as nature of occupation, shift work and even more the number of children, will assume significance with numerically larger random samples. The dates at which pregnant women are assigned to easier jobs were found to depend with considerable significance on the medical doctor in charge, the department or area of employment, and the type of work. These findings can be interpreted as consequence of several factors, the medical officer's knowledge of specific working conditions to which his patients are exposed and objectively differentiated physical workloads. More information will be required on specific shop-floor conditions.

[Complaint and behavior questionnaires in healthy persons and neurotics].

200 persons passing an employment examination and 200 outpatients have been examined by us on the basis of complaints and behaviour questionnaires (BFB/VFB) after Höck and Hess. The results obtained from both random samples confirm the very high rate of hits reached with these psychodiagnostic aids. Especially the simultaneous employment of both methods and the combination result obtained from it lead to a very good agreement with the clinical findings. Both in the diagnosis of the individual case for the health care of our population and as a screening test for the recognition of neurosis in prophylactic, fitness and observation examinations they can be valuable in the hands of the clinical psychologist and neurosis-psychologically trained physician.

[Research with a complaint questionnaire for healthy persons and neurotic patients].

This is a report of experience obtained with the use of complaint questionnaires introduced by Kasielke, Möbius, and Scholze. The persons available to us in this study included 460 normal subjects and 180 patients diagnosed and treated on an outpatient basis. Results to date indicate that a complaint questionnaire may be of use to a clinical psychologist in the individual determination of the nature of disease, if the data contained in the questionnaire is evaluated and analyzed critically. This is true especially for its use as a screening test for the recognition of neurosis within the framework of preventive examinations.

[On psycho-diagnostic of practical technical ability in juveniles (author's transl)].

230 juveniles were examined by means of the box of constructional blocks-in conformity with Huth -, and the results were analysed statistically in regard of sex, age, school year, and school certificates. Concerning working speed and the marks for technical conception, there is a significant difference between girls and boys. On an average, boys achieved better results than girls. These results of the performance variables have mainly been influenced by the school year that the juvenile attended at the date of these tests. Irrespectively of their sex, applicants for vocational training who had attended 10 forms achieved significantly better results than pupils of the 9th form. The test is useful for examinations concerning the aptitude-diagnostic.

[Information-theoretical error analysis of a form-comparison test].

An attempt has been made to make an error analysis, by both the conventional and information theoretical mode of evaluation, of the results of a forms comparison test used for diagnosing the sensory and optical capacity of differentiating. A total of 423 test subjects were available for this program. Data for the standardization of this test and for the evaluation of test results was derived from the results of this investigation.
