A patient was admitted to hospital with severe symptoms of low back pain. In her previous medical history there were musculo-skeletal problems for many years in addition to continuous medical investigation and treatment for low back pain for three months. Careful examination revealed a five-centimetre large gastric ulcer in the background of her symptoms.

[Knee arthroplasty with total condylar endoprosthesis].

Authors report on experiences gained with the Total Condylar knee prosthesis, representing the third generation in the development of the knee endoprosthesis. Based on results of 17 operations it is stressed that after the implantation in the severely degenerated or destroyed knee joint they succeeded to reach a significant decrease of pain and increase of the range of movement. After the implantation of the prosthesis adequate stability can be gained in knee joints without cruciate ligaments.

Efficacy of 100 microgram (250 IU) anti-D IgG in the prevention of Rh-haemolytic disease.

In the years 1975-1976, 6,766 unselected (ABO compatible and incompatible) primigravidae parturients with uncomplicated delivery were given 100 microgram (250 IU) anti-D IgG. A total of 4,473 presented for the 6-month control examination. IAGT was positive in 5 cases (0.11%). The 200 microgram (500 IU) dose was administered to 1,543 women. Of these, 962 presented for serological control. IAGT was positive in 1 case (0.10%). The difference is not significant. The findings support the results of previous studies suggesting that 100 microgram anti-D is a sufficient dose to prevent immunization in uncomplicated deliveries.
