This is a report of a successfully treated case of a 55-year-old woman with posterior communicating artery aneurysm who had a partial 3rd nerve palsy with pupillary sparing, temporal lobe intracerebral hematoma and a subdural hematoma. Such an association has not been reported earlier.
True "multiple meningiomas" as defined by Cushing are rare. A case of multiple meningiomas without stigmata of neurofibromatosis, in a 53 year old man, treated surgically is reported. The relevant literature on multiple meningiomas has been reviewed.

Fifteen operated cases of upper lumbar disc prolapse have been reviewed. They were categorised under 4 types of clinical presentation. There was no clear correlation between the level of the prolapse, clinical presentation, and type of disc prolapse as observed at surgery. On long term follow-up 11 of the 15 (73%) cases had an excellent result and were leading a normal life. The result is poor in patients with severe paraplegia.

Intramedullary tumors of the spinal cord in childhood are usually of low grades (grades I and II) and are most commonly seen in the cervical and cervicothoracic regions. They present with symptoms and signs of spinal cord tumor. It is uncommon to find an anaplastic astrocytoma situated in the thoracolumbar segment of the spinal cord. Whereas papilledema and raised intracranial symptoms have been reported in about 12.5% of cases of spinal cord tumors it is rare to find them presenting initially only with symptoms of raised intracranial pressure and only later followed by spinal cord symptoms. The case of an 11-year-old female child is reported here because of a combination of these two rare features.
A primary posterior mediastinal hydatic cyst presenting with spinal compression syndrome is rare. We describe the case of a 35-year-old lady with a posterior mediastinal hydatid cyst who presented with progressive paraplegia. Excision of cyst was followed by systemic Albendazole therapy. She showed neurological recovery without recurrence till now. The role of Albendazole in preventing recurrence has been stressed and the relevant literature has been reviewed.

Intramedullary tumors form 10% of all the spinal cord tumors. Majority of them are gliomas and rarely benign tumors are encountered. Twenty five cases of intramedullary mass lesions are studied regarding their clinical presentation, radiological features, surgical aspects and outcome following the surgery and radiotherapy. There were six benign lesions where the outcome was excellent. There were 11 patients with astrocytoma and 8 cases with ependymoma. In all, arrest of the disease or improvement could be achieved in 20 cases. Extent of surgical resection and role of radiotherapy, which are still controversial, are discussed.
