[Luno-triquetral angle and dislocation of the wrist].

The mediocarpal force, determined by the distal articular surface of both, lunate and triquetral bones, abuts against the double bolt, composed of the scaphoid and the radial styloid process. An important wrist trauma can rupture this bolt and cause a proximal and lateral translation of the distal carpal row. This situation may present under 3 forms: fracture of the scaphoid bone and midcarpal dissociation; fracture of the radial styloid process with scapholunate dissociation; scapholunate dissociation, associated with a dorsal radiotriquetral ligament rupture and medial translation of the lunotriquetral block. Experimental and clinical illustration of this process, discussion and treatment.

Carpal Bones↗

[Trans-scaphoid-triquetrum-retrolunar fracture luxation. A case report].

The authors report an exceptional case of retrolunate dislocation of the carpus associated with a Schernberg type III scaphoid fracture and a transverse fracture of the triquetrum at the level of its median crest, avulsing all of the upper third of this bone. That describe the emergency treatment and the radiological and operative findings.

[Salvage ligament repair following failure of arthrodesis of the lunate-triquetrum-hamate joint for internal instability of the joint. Apropos of a case report].

A case of posttraumatic carpal dislocation in volar inclination of the intermediary segment (VISI), treated by a lunate-triquetrum-hamate arthrodesis (LTH) is presented. This operation leaves the rupture of the radio-triquetrum dorsal ligament; rather the entire carpus rotates in supination postoperatively. This repair of the radio-triquetrum dorsal ligament permits realignment and stabilization of the carpus and results in resolution of pain.

Arthrodesis↗

[Pseudotumoral chondrocalcinosis and carpal tunnel syndrome. Apropos of a case report].

Review of the literature of chondrocalcinosis and rheumatologic osteoarticular causes of the carpal tunnel syndrome. Presentation of one observation of chondrocalcinosis of the wrist with presence of a pseudotumor, developed in the carpal tunnel and having induced a carpal tunnel syndrome, at first subacute, then particularly painful by direct irritation of the median nerve.
