[Use of UV-irradiated donor plasma in the treatment of destructive pancreatitis].

Donor plasma exposed to UV rays was included in the complex of measures for the treatment of diffuse pancreonecrosis with marked signs of enzyme toxemia and endogenous intoxication in 14 patients. The irradiation was conducted on an original device in which a [symbol: see text] lamp with a wave length of 253.6 nm was used as the source of radiation. Study of the dynamics of changes in the level of lipid peroxidation, alpha-tocopherol, trypsin, and lipase allows the conclusion that infusion of donor plasma exposed to UV radiation has a favorable effect on processes of detoxification of the organism.

[Use of ribonuclease in multimodal treatment of acute pancreatitis].

The method of intraductal administration of ribonuclease as a therapeutic measure was developed on an experimental model of acute pancreatitis in albino rats. Morphological and biochemical examination showed that intraductal administration of ribonuclease in a dose of 0.5 mg produces a positive therapeutic effect, which allowed the method to be applied in complex treatment of 33 patients with various forms of acute pancreatitis. Administration of ribonuclease into the pancreatic duct relieved the attack of pain and reduced the level of lipo- and proteolytic enzymes in blood. No complications were encountered in endoscopic cannulation of the main pancreatic duct and subsequent administration of ribonuclease.

[Acid-base equilibrium of the blood during treatment using plasma UV-irradiation of chronic diseases of the liver and bile ducts with cholestasis].

Donor plasma irradiated by ultraviolet rays was administered intravenously to patients with choledocholithiasis, chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. Parameters of the acid-base balance of arterialized capillary blood shifted to alkalosis, were normalized, and tension of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the blood increased to physiological values. Dynamic changes of the biochemical parameters demonstrated alleviation of manifestations of the cholestasis syndrome.
