[Glomus tumor of the leg: a case report].

Glomus tumor is an uncommon benign neuromyoarterial tumor. It most frequently involves the fingers, and only rarely involves other sites. The clinical, imaging and therapeutic considerations regarding a glomangioma of the leg in a 65-year-old-man are reviewed.

Aged↗

[Intracranial textiloma].

The authors report a case of intracranial textiloma in a 36-year-old male diagnosed 3 years after surgery for a left spheno-orbital meningioma.

Adult↗

[MRI appearance of lumbar epidural abscesses: report of three cases].

The authors report three cases of non-tuberculous epidural abscess. Presenting symptoms included lumbar back pain, muscle spasms, soft tIssue swelling, and neurological deficits in all three cases. MR imaging was helpful for diagnosis and showed involvement of perivertebral soft tissues and an epidural abscess of variable size. There was no significant involvement of intervertebral disks or vertebrae. Diagnosis was confirmed by bacteriologic exam. Clinical outcome was favourable with antibiotic treatment.

Adolescent↗

[Cervical hydatid disease with retropharyngeal involvement: a case report].

Hydatid disease involves the bones in 0.5 to 2% of cases, with 44% of these cases at the level of the spine. The cervical spine is a rare location, with a risk of spinal cord compression and recurrences. The Authors report a case of a young male admitted for progressive quadriplegia secondary to cervical spine hydatidosis, extending towards the retropharynx that was evaluated by CT and MRI.

Adult↗

[Candida arthritis of the TM joint complicating chronic otitis media].

Infectious arthritis of the temporomandibular joint is very uncommon, and arthritis of the TM joint as a result of candida albicans infection has not previously been reported. The authors describe a patient treated for chronic otitis media complicated by arthritis of the temporomandibular joint. The diagnosis was made using CT scan and bacteriologic sampling.

Arthritis, Infectious↗

[Frontal osteosarcoma: a case report].

Osteosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm of bone usually affecting long bones. Skull involvement is rare. Primary cranial involvement accounts for less than 3% of all skull neoplasms. We report the imaging findings of a case of osteosarcoma of the frontal bone.

Adult↗

[A rare cause of spinal cord compression: osteochondroma of the thoracic spine. A case report].

Osteochondroma or exostosis is the most common benign tumor of bone, but vertebral involvement is rare. The authors report the case of a 16 years old male with a family history of hereditary multiple exostoses who presented with spinal cord compression. MR examination showed an intraspinal extradural bone lesion at the T1-T2 level, hyperintense on T1 weighted and hypointense on T2 weighted images, causing marked cord deformity. The CT scan showed a tumor of the body and left pedicle of T2 with severe narrowing of the spinal canal.

Adolescent↗

[Hydatid disease of the urinary bladder: a case report].

All organs in the human body may be affected by hydatid disease. Urinary tract involvement in hydatid disease is not common, corresponding to only 2-4% of cases. The kidneys are the most commonly affected organs in the urinary tract. We report a case of hydatid cyst of the urinary bladder.

Echinococcosis↗

[Tuberculosis of the posterior vertebral arch. A case report].

Tuberculosis of the spine usually involves the vertebral body and intervertebral disk. Involvement of the posterior arch is rare. We report a case of tuberculosis involving the posterior elements of the T4 and T5 vertebrae in a 38 year old woman. CT is helpful to assess bony structures whereas MRI is ideal to evaluate the neural structures. Clinical, radiographic, and therapeutic considerations regarding tuberculosis of the spine are reviewed.

Adult↗

[Primary extensive hydatidosis of the thigh: unusual radiological aspects].

Soft tissue involvement by hydatid disease remains unusual (5%) even in endemic areas. Patients typically present late because disease progression is slow and often asymptomatic. The authors report the unusual imaging appearance in a 59 year old woman with a one year history of progressive diffuse painless swelling of the left thigh. Ultrasonography showed multiple anechoic and hypoechoic cystic lesions, some of which containing serpentine echogenic structures consistent with partly calcified membranes. CT and MRI confirmed a diagnosis of hydatid disease and were helpful to demonstrate the relationship between cysts and adjacent structures. Surgical management was performed early because of fistulization to the skin.

Cutaneous Fistula↗

[Subcapsular hematoma of liver during pregnancy: report of 4 cases].

A Subcapsular hematoma of the liver is a rare but very serious complication of pregnancy. Diagnosis is confirmed at imaging (Ultrasound, CT, MRI) since clinical symptoms are not specific and biological signs have a delayed manifestation. The management of this complication depends on the integrity or rupture of Glisson's capsule. We report the cases of 4 patients and review of the literature.
