[The efficacy of treating patients with intraocular hemorrhages with emoxypin].

Emoxipin, a home-made preparation approved by the Pharmacological Committee for clinical usage in 1986, is a retinal protector. Its usage is indicated for treatment of chorioretinitis, diabetic retinopathy, thrombosis of retinal vessels as well as to protects the retina from a damaging action of light of high intensity. In order to study therapeutic effectiveness of emoxipin in intraocular hemorrhages of different genesis, the preparation was used subconjunctivally, 0.5 ml of a 1% solution daily for 10-15 days. Emoxipin was used in 29 patients (29 eyes) with intraocular hemorrhages, of them, due to contusion of the eye--in 19, hypertonic disease--in 6, thrombosis of the central retinal vein--in 2, after intraocular operations--in 2 patients. As a result of the treatment, partial or almost total resolution of hemorrhages and a rise of visual acuity of different degree were recorded in all patients. Before treatment, visual acuity was from light perception to 0.04 in 26 eyes, from 0.09 to 0.3 in 3 eyes. After treatment, it rose to 0.1-0.2 in 12 eyes, to 0.3-1.0--in 17 eyes.

[Collalysine treatment of intraocular hemorrhages].

For treatment of 35 patients with intraocular hemorrhages (22 persons with hemophthalmos and 13 persons with hemorrhages into the retina) collalysin was injected subconjunctivally, 50 CU in a 0.3 ml of 0.5% novocaine solution. A course of treatment consisted of 10-12 injections. A control group included patients treated by fibrolysin injections (22 persons). Collalysin proved to be more effective: initial visual acuity from light perception to 0.03 increased to 0.1 and higher in 50% of patients and to 0.4-0.7 in 22.7%. Thus, subconjunctival injections of collalysin in treatment of intraocular hemorrhages stimulate its effectiveness.

[Campimetry with color filters for the diagnosis of subclinical forms of central retinal sclerotic dystrophy].

For diagnosing subclinical forms of central sclerotic dystrophies of the retina the authors propose to use color campimetry with the help of standard color glasses or a device suggested by them. Chromatic campimetry used for examination of 75 patients with mono- or bilateral macular dystrophy allowed to reveal absolute central or paracentral scotomas in some persons with macular dystrophy not seen in achromatic campimetry. Only with the help of color campimetry central scotomas could be revealed in second, clinically healthy eyes with still high visual acuity in persons with monolateral macular dystrophies. The red filter proved to be the most sensitive to initial changes in the macular area. For a timely prescription of dedystrophic treatment, the authors recommend to use color campimetry for examination of both eyes of the patients with monolateral macular dystrophy as well as in persons addressing for selection of glasses or undergoing preventive examination.
