[Similarity and difference of the response of Peyer's patches and mesenteric lymph nodes of rats to polychemotherapy].

The structure of the Peyer's patches and mesenteric lymph nodes of rats at different periods after polychemotherapy was investigated by light microscopy. After the use of antitumor drugs the number of the blasts and mytoses in the lymphoid follicles with the mesenteric lymph node bright centres and in the Peyer's patch follicles lowered, that along with the decrease of the size of the mantle zone in the lymph node follicles and the decrease of the area of the bright centres in the follicles of the lympoid formations in the intestinal wall was evident of the proliferation inhibition and B cells differentiation in the lymphoid organs. After the polychemotherapy the size of the germinative centres of the Payer's patch follicles decreased while the size of the mantle zone remained unchanged. The size of the mantle zone in the follicles of the mesenteric lymph nodes decreased while the size of the germinative centres did not change. The different responses of the lymphoid organs could be associated with some remote location of the lymph nodes with respect to the antigen source (damaged epithelium and intestinal lumen contents).

[Changes in gum in cases of arterial hypertension combination with periodontitis].

Microlymphohemocirculatory bed and leucocytogram of gingival tissue were studied by the light microscopy in patients with chronic periodontitis having normal and high arterial blood pressure. In most cases of arterial hypertension the gingival mucous was characterized by widening of lymphatic vessels and interstitial spaces. In cases of arterial hypertension combination with inflammatory reaction the tendency for widening of lymphatic vessels and interstitial spaces persisted compared with cases of normal blood pressure. It testifies to high probability of lymphogenic generalization of inflammation. Besides, in cases of inflammatory gingival pathology in arterial hypertension the absolute neutrophil number was significantly higher showing for more acute inflammatory process and greater volume of tissue involvement.

[Effect of anthracyclines on the intestine and its lymphoid organs (literature review)].

Anthracycline drugs after their administration first of all affect the cells with active proliferation and differentiation resulting not only in inhibition of the processes but also in induction of apoptosis, that precisely explains the pathological shifts in the intestinal epithelium, i.e. in the tissue with many dividing and maturating cells. The damaged epithelium after the use of anthracycline drugs becomes permeable for many substance of the antigenic nature from the intestine lumen that stimulate the response of the lymphoid organs.

[Scar formation in the liver].

The review examines the current data on the cellular and tissue mechanisms of scar formation in the liver. On the basis of the analysis of the literature, authors conclude that to minimize the destructive processes in the liver, the most advisable and promising method during the operations on this organ is the use of laser surgical devices. However, the problems of the selection of the optimal regimes of laser radiation and of the methods of conducting these operations to promote reliable and rapid healing of postoperative wound of the liver.

[Lymphotropic therapy for acute purulent odontogenic jaw periostitis].

The structure of the gingival mucosa was studied by optic microscopy in patients with acute purulent odontogenic maxillary periostitis treated traditionally and receiving lymphotropic therapy. Lymphotropic administration of the antibiotic during 2 days resulted in less pronounced dilatation of the interstitial spaces and lymph vessels adjacent to the molars and higher counts of lymphocytes, monocytes, and macrophages. This indicated high efficiency of lymphotropic therapy of acute purulent maxillary periostitis for molars. Microcirculation parameters and tissue leukocyte cytogram in gingival mucosal tissue adjacent to the canines and premolars differed negligibly in patients treated by different methods.

[Mast cell number as an indicator of angiogenesis in autotransplanted tissue].

Using the methods of light microscopy, mast cell (MC) distribution was studied and their number was counted in the dermis of autotransplanted vascularized tissue complexes at different time intervals following the operation. The number of MC in the dermis during the process of angiogenesis was closely connected with the number of blood vessels as evidenced by the direct correlation between these two parameters 2-3 weeks, 2-4 months and 5-8 months after the transplantation. MC seem to participate in the control of blood and lymph vessel formation as witnessed by high MC concentration close to the formed vessels and low MC concentration at a distance from them 2-4 and 5-8 months following the transplantation. It is suggested that the data on MC number may be helpful in prognosis of angiogenesis intensity in tissues, time intervals of edema reduction after organ or tissue transplantation, outcome of lymphedema treatment, velocity of tumor metastasis spread.

[Morphologic aspects of transplantation of vascularized tissues complexes].

Microcirculation and tissue leukocytes in transplanted on vascular peduncle tissue complex were studied with light microscopy. Lymph outflow disorders were the causes of transplant edema. Lymph outflow and hemocirculation were restored through new vessels formation that was revealed in all transplant tissues over 2-8 months after transplantation. With time, processes of sclerotic transformation in tissues of transplanted flap progress due to denervation and function loss of transplanted tissues.

[Adsorption therapy for acute suppurative periostitis of the jaw].

Capillaries and tissue leukocyte cytograms in soft gingival tissues were examined by optic microscopy in patients with acute purulent periostitis of the jaws treated by different methods. Disorders in the lymph outflow from gingival tissues were detected, which were due to dilatation of the lymph vessels and interstitial spaces in the mucosal lamina propria and stasis with leukocyte aggregation and purulent clots in the lumina of many lymph vessels. Less pronounced dilatation of interstitial spaces and lymph vessels, higher counts of lymphocytes, monocytes, and macrophages in the tissues of the gingival mucosa lamina propria, observed 2 days after the beginning of adsorption therapy of the subperiosteal abscess cavity, indicate that this therapy is more effective in acute purulent periostitis than traditional treatment.

[Interaction of artificial carbon-mineral sorption preparations with the wound content].

The surface of SUMS1 was studied using scanning electron microscopy after contact with the wound contact. In vivo sorbent action was found to differ from in vitro adsorption properties of sorption drugs, as during the contact with organism tissue in the inflammation focus granule active surface is covered by fibrin, to which necrotic tissues, bacteria and immunocompetent cells adhere. The use of sorption drainage in acute and chronic inflammation lowers the challenge on lymphatic tissue because removal of sorption preparations also causes elimination of large fragments of non viable tissues, antigens and protein-cellular conglomerates that might block lymphatic vessels and regional lymph nodes.

[Morphological changes of lymphatic system in patients with the lymphedema of lower extremities].

Morphological changes in inguinal lymph nodes, lymphatic collector and subcutaneous space were studied up in patients with the lower extremities lymphoedema. While the lower extremities lymphoedema occurs in inguinal lymph nodes the connective tissues spreading in two variants is observed. In the first one fibroblasts and collagen fibres appears in medullar substance (chordae medullaris and medullar sinuses) and in the second the sclerosis process begins from cortical plateau and paracortical zone. It is expedient to include the intraarterial infusion of the xenospleen preparations in complex of treatment of patients with initial stage of the lower extremities lymphoedema, especially in the absence of possibility to proceed with microsurgical intervention and the erysipelas presence in anamnesis.

[Complications of sorption-application therapy of purulent wounds].

A retrospective analysis of 187 case records was made for elucidation of the frequency of development of complications in sorption-applicational treatment of festering wounds. It was revealed that late after strewing sterile sorbent into the wound in 6.4% of patients the development of fistulas and going out of preparation granules though fistula occurred. It is concluded, that sorbent's granules incapsulate together with living microorganisms adsorbed on their surface. For prevention of this complication the corbent is recommended to be introduced into the wound in small porous containers, which provide quick replacement of the preparation during wound dressing and its complete elimination in the end of healing.

[Structural formation of adhesions in abdominal cavity and bowel walls in treatment of peritonitis by sorbent with absorbed metrinidazole or lipoorizinum (experimental study)].

Specimens of abdominal adhesions and bowels of rats were examined at light microscopy in treatment of diffuse purulent peritonitis (DPP) by kanamycin and artificial carbomineral sorbent SUMS-2p with metronidazolum or lipoorizinum adsorbed on the surface. Sorptional therapy of DPP was more effective in comparison with application of kanamycin (decrease in mortality rate of the animals were detected as well as the reduction in volume of the exudate and decline of inflammatory infiltration of the abdominal adhesions and bowels). However SUMS-2p with lipoorizinum showed to be active in treatment of DPP, than the sorbent with metronidazolum. This was confirmed by greater quantity of neutrophils, eosinophils and mast cells in the adhesions and by interintestinal abscesses formation.

[Complications of indirect lymphotropic therapy in patients with suppurative wounds].

With the aim to reveal the frequency of complications in indirect lymphotropic therapy, retrospective analysis of 2136 case records of patients with festering wounds was carried out. In 1.59% of patients the following complications in the area of introduction of preparation were detected: protracted oedemas of hands and feet, severe painful syndrome, infiltration, necroses of soft tissues and the areas of atrophy and aseptic inflammation. Most commonly the complications arose in patients with peripheral circulation disturbances. The authors suggested this method of treatment to be contraindicated in peripheral blood flow disturbances and before its application the additional examination for revealing vascular disturbances is obligatory. In cases of painful syndrome, oedema, infiltration, hyperemia in the area of introduction of the drugs one day after the injection, indirect lymphotropic therapy should be discontinued.

[The artificial lymph node].

Adsorption of lymphocytes on the sorbents in correction of inflammatory lesions has significant clinical perspectives as the cells and active biological substances they secrete function actively in inflamed tissues acting in the site of its application: every cell adsorbs and inactivates foreign substances, every cytokin affects certain target cells. The products of these cells functioning and dissociation as well as the products of immune system reaction to them remain on the sorbent and are eliminated together with granules during bandaging or by the end of the treatment thus do not entering the organism. Lymphocytic monolayer on the sorbent does not prevent its specific action in pathologic nidus. In this case sorbent does not only drain the tissue duplicating certain primitive non specific functions of regional lymph node (barrier, filtrating, transport, draining and protective functions) but also performs certain highly specialized functions of immunocompetent organs--selective adsorption and inactivation of antigenic substances. It is reasonable to use sorbents for adsorbing lymphocytes in kapron containers which exclude the preparation leak into wounds and cavities and act as a filter preventing fast inactivation of the preparation by large fragments of tissue detritus.

[The valves of the marginal sinus of the lymph nodes].

Popliteal lymph nodes of male Wistar rats were studied in scanning regime of electron microscope. On the base of the data obtained it is concluded that on the lymph node surface and in the thickness of a capsule afferent lymphatic vessels branch into thin rami supplied with valves from the inside of the capsule in the site of falling into marginal sinus. Valvular apparatus found obviously gives possibility to regulate lymph flow in the lymph node.
