[Role of diabetic neuropathy in development of diabetic foot syndrome].

A known complication of diabetes mellitus is diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) arising in the presence of peripheral nervous system disorders and affection of the major vessels of the legs. Various foot defects with characteristic clinical functional features develop depending on the prevailing factor. Peripheral neuropathy is essential in DFS onset. The study of sensomotor and autonomic neuropathic disturbances can be used for prognostic analysis of foot defects in diabetes mellitus.

[Assessment of a multimicrotest system for biochemical identification of enterobacteria (MMT E1) in a controlled epidemiological experiment. I].

Comparative evaluation of a system of multimicrotests for biochemical identification of enterobacteria (MMT E1) developed at the ALLERGEN Research and Production Amalgamation and of tube tests for the same purpose in a controlled epidemiologic experiment has shown that the suggested system meets the requirements to such diagnostic preparations by all the major qualitative parameters (compatibility and reproducibility of the test results). Practical use of MMT E1 system will simplify and facilitate the process of enterobacteria identification.

[Microcirculatory changes during the long-term course of deafferentation pain syndrome].

It was shown that during 5 months after section of the sciatic nerve in 100% of rats the extremity's autotomies took place. In clinic development of deafferentation pain syndrome the waves character of autotomy was previal (86%); the maximal waves during 6 month was 6. In 14% of animals it was shown the deafferentation pain syndrome with permanent autotomy. The disorders of terminal blood flow, increase venular permeability and mast cells degranulation was shown in rats with hard autotomy. The microcirculation disturbances increased in case of autotomy repeated. The recovery of extremities with autotomy correlated with normalization of microcirculation. The microcirculation disorders (stasis) and degranulation of the mast cells were hard in rats with permanent autotomy then in rats with repeated autotomy.

Afferent Pathways↗

[The formation of a pathological system in rats with neuropathic trigeminal neuralgia].

The intensity of clinical manifestations (rubbing of the oro-facial area with skin injury), bioelectric activity of the somatosensory cortex and microcirculatory disturbances were studied for 6 weeks in Wistar rats with partial infraorbital nerve compression. These parameters were compared among rats of the following groups: without skin rubbing (1), with them (2), with repaired skin (3) after nerve compression and sham-operated rats (4). A correlation between the intensity of clinical manifestations and microcirculatory disturbances was shown. Epileptiform cortex activity was observed in 100% and 75% rats of the 2nd and 3rd groups, respectively, while in group 1 this per cent decreased time. These results are discussed with regard to the formation of pathologic algic system which underlies the pain syndrome and affects peripheral target organs.

[Evaluation of a system of multimicrotests for biochemical identification of enterobacteria (MMT E2) in a controlled epidemiological trial. 2].

Commercial system of multimicrotests for biochemical identification of enterobacteria MMT E2 and routine tube tests were compared in a controlled epidemiologic experiment with 205 enterobacterial strains. The system has been developed at the Allergen Research and Production Amalgamation. System MMT E2 fairly well met the requirements to diagnostic preparations of this kind; its results were compatible and well reproducible. This system in complex with commercial MMT E1 system may be used for species identification of enterobacteria. Practical application of both the systems will considerably simplify the process of identification of these microorganisms.

[Morphine does not prevent the development of a pain syndrome in rats induced by transection of the sciatic nerve].

The effects of morphine on the development of the neurogenic pain syndrome were studied in rats after sciatic nerve dissection. Morphine was injected subcutaneously in doses of 0.1, 1.0, and 5.0 mg/kg every day, starting on the first day after dissection. It has been shown that despite the fact that morphine initially arrests the development of the pain syndrome, then it intensifies its course. Possible mechanisms responsible for the inefficacy of morphine in neurogenic pain syndromes are discussed.

[Effect of clofelin and propranolol on the development of neurogenic pain syndrome in rats].

After cutting the sciatic nerve in rats, clofelin and propranolol were tested for effects on the development of the pain syndrome. It was found that in rats receiving neither clofelin nor propranolol, the cutting of the sciatic nerve resulted in hyperalgesia, autotomies, increased amplitude of evoked potentials in the contralateral somatosensory cortex during tissue stimulation of the paw with the nerve cut, as well as in impaired microcirculation and venular permeability in mesenteric vessels. A daily administration of clofelin or propranolol to the animals starting on the first day after nerve cutting was demonstrated to prevent disorders existing in control animals. The mechanisms of action of clofelin and propranolol which prevent the pain syndrome in the animals after the cutting of the sciatic nerve are discussed.
