Telescopic prosthetic therapy.
This article explains the crown and sleeve-coping (CSC) prosthesis, an alternative to traditional fixed and removable prostheses. The CSC prosthesis uses as few as two remaining teeth in an arch to ensure better preservation of the alveolar ridge. Evidence will be presented that supports the use of this procedure where applicable. The growing number of elderly patients requires that this modality of prosthodontics be used to prevent edentulism.
