[Potentialities of life quality evaluation for gastroenterological patients].

Quality of life (QL) was studied in 112 patients with gastroenterological diseases: 29 cases of gastric ulcer (GU), 53 cases of duodenal ulcer (DU) and 30 cases of chronic pancreatitis (CP). QL was judged according to the test of the Cardiological Research Center of the RAMS. QL in the above gastroenterological diseases was related to restrictions in the diet, emotional and muscular load, long-term treatment. The integral quantitative indices of QL were worse in CP and GU than in DU, and deteriorated with the disease duration and severity. A close correlation was found between QL and subjective symptoms of the disease, especially pain syndrome. The proposed approach to qualitative and quantitative assessment of gastroenterological patients's quality of life adequately reflects this complex phenomenon and closely correlated with clinical evidence.

[Methods of teaching efficient therapy of internal diseases].

An original method of teaching students efficient therapy has been developed basing on the psychological decision theory, conception of stage-by-stage formation of mental actions, method of key signals. The instructor uses the scheme repeatedly when observing the students' clinical activities, at doctor's rounds and conferences.

[The use of thermography in clinical practice].

A study is presented of the role of thermography (thermovision) in evaluation of disorders of microcirculation and objectivization of the pain syndrome in some chronic digestive diseases. It is shown that thermography enables to evaluate the functional state of microvessels. Thermovision makes it possible in most cases to objectivize pain, especially in the painful zones on the middle abdominal wall that is registered by an elevated infrared radiation.

Chronic Disease↗

[The use of thermography in the clinical evaluation of microcirculation].

A method of thermography of the hands including the cold test was employed to evaluate peripheral microcirculation in 116 patients (34 with atherosclerosis of the vessels of different sites, 38 with chronic diffuse liver diseases and 38 with chronic pancreatitis). In 29 patients with hepatocirrhosis and chronic pancreatitis microcirculation was also studied by conjunctival biomicroscopy. Microcirculatory disturbances by the method of thermography of the hands, particularly using the cold test, were revealed in a considerable number of cases of primary vascular pathology as well as in chronic liver and pancreatic diseases. Parallelism in the recognition of microcirculatory disturbances by the methods of thermography and conjunctival biomicroscopy was noted. The method of thermography of the hands permitted the evaluation of reactivity of the vessels of the microcirculatory bed. Taking into account its sufficient informative value, noninvasiveness, simplicity and an opportunity of dynamic observations it can be recommended for a wider clinical use to study microcirculatory disturbances.

[The possibilities for evaluating the structure of a pain syndrome and the analgesic action of the therapeutic factors in health resort practice].

Chronic pain sufferers with vertebral osteochondrosis (altogether 80 patients) have been examined. The course of the pain syndrome and its intensity were studied with a modified McGill's pain questionnaire. The latter proved able to provide a reliable reflection of the pain qualitative and quantitative characteristics allowing objective evaluation of pelotherapeutic analgetic potential. A course of pelotherapy resulted in pain relief and improved values of its basic components under study. Introduction of the analgetic coefficient promoted gradation of pelotherapy-induced analgetic effect.
