[Human resistance to decompression sickness and nonspecific methods of its elevation].

The object of this study was the dependence of decompression sickness (DCS) tolerance determined by the intensity of venous gas embolism on functioning of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and micro-circulation which predetermine wash-out of an indifferent gas. Efficiency of nonspecific methods, e.g. hypercapnic training, hyperbaric oxygenation, exposures to pulse current to enhance human tolerance to DCS was experimentally substantiated.

[Visceral pathology in acute destructive pancreatitis].

It is suggested that combined therapy of acute destructive pancreatitis should allow for multiprofile visceral pathology induced by pancreatogenic endotoxicosis and intoxication due to secondary purulent infection.

Acute Disease↗

[Experience in teaching a course on biopsy and dissection].

Basic aspects of the biopsy-sectional course are listed: knowledge of the structure, tasks, juridical status of the pathology service; clinico-anatomical analysis during necropsy; principles of the pathology diagnosis and clinico-anatomical epicrisis; visual presentation of the biopsy and operation material, including urgent biopsies; participation of students in the city clinico-anatomical conferences; lectures about medical deontology and physician errors.

[The pathomorphology of the eye in the perinatal period].

The eyes of 214 foetuses and newborns and 3 children of the 1st year of life dying from asphyxia, skull trauma during the delivery, perinatal infections, chromosomal diseases and newborn haemolytic disease were studied morphologically. Main pathogenetic factors of the premature infant retinopathy are presented. The results of the study indicate that the eye is involved in the pathologic process in various pathology of the perinatal period this implying the necessity of the eye morphological study in those dying perinatally and routine ophthalmologic examination of newborns.

[Clinico-anatomic characteristics of cysticercosis of the brain].

Polymorphism clinical signs is typical of the brain cysticercosis. This is explained by different location of parasites and various complications as adhesive arachnoiditis, internal hydrocephaly, and demolition caused by cysticercosis-related thromboarteritis.

[Means of improving and increasing the effectiveness of the activity of pathological anatomy services].

A long-term joint experience gained by the Chair of Pathologic Anatomy of the Grodno Medical Institute and the Regional Pathologic Service is suggestive of an essential role of undergraduate training in pathology for practical activities of the staff to be. The author holds that it would be appropriate to introduce the status of clinical prosectoria. Much benefit can be derived from broad discussion of statistically treated histological data with a detailed analysis of the pathologist's errors and defects in section processing.

[Are-related morphometric characteristics of the human pancreas].

Quantitative characteristics of the parenchyma and stroma of the pancreas has been determined at the age of 3 days up to 92 years. The data obtained concretize the character and dynamics of involutive changes. To take them into consideration is necessary at estimation of various pathological processes, revealed in the pancreas.
