The development of the Nursing Information Consortium of Orange County (NICOC) is traced over time, and reasons for the crises encountered are explored. Based on the experiences of NICOC, recommendations for other consortia are included, as well as for the consortium grant process.
Errata notices published in medical journals are investigated by (1) a six-month study of those currently received by a medium-sized medical library; (2) a survey on the way medical libraries handle them, and (3) interviews with researchers to determine their ideas about errata. Since there is a wide variation at present in errata control practices, the question is raised about the extent of a library's responsibility with regard to errata.
