New macrolide antibiotic, roxithromycin (erythromycin--like group), was tested in treatment of chlamydial genital infection in women. In comparison with doxycycline, roxithromycin showed higher clinical efficiency with fewer sides effects.
Mechanism of estrogens effect on bone metabolism in relation to postmenopausal period is discussed. An emphasis is on multiple effects of estrogens as both systemic and local factors. A role of progesterone and other gestagens in the process of bone remodelling is also stressed.
Urinary steroid profiling by means of Capillary gas chromatography in postmenopausal women was detected. Glass capillary columns, OV-1, were used. Our results show that there is a rise of extraction of etiocholanolone (ET) in case of postmenopausal women in compare with androsterone (AN). The ratio ET/AN confirms the above results.
68 women with sterility treatment were tested. Among 13 of them (20%) presence of chlamydial antibodies was found. Hormonal profile was estimated. In a group of women with positive serologic reaction increased concentration of prolactin was found.
