Cross utilization in critical care.
Fluctuations in inpatient census are occurring across the nation, necessitating innovative approaches to staffing. At our facility, fluctuations were most acute in the critical care units. In order to meet the staffing needs of these units and ensure competency of staff, a cross-utilization program was implemented.
