Inotropes--an overview.
It is essential that nurses understand the drugs they are using, and the measurements they are monitoring. Inotropes are powerful drugs with immediate action. The aim of this article is to give an overview of the inotropes used commonly in intensive care environments, plus some of those currently undergoing investigation.
