Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia affecting the oral mucosa: report of a case and a review of the literature.

Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) is an uncommon disorder of unknown aetiology. Clinically, it is characterized by cutaneous papules or nodules on the head and neck, and extracutaneous involvement is rare. We report a 30-year-old woman who had an asymptomatic submucosal nodule on the upper lip, which histopathologically showed features of ALHE, and review the previously described 15 cases of oral ALHE.

Evolution of a case of lung plasma cell granuloma.

Plasma cell granuloma, on lung inflammatory pseudotumour, is a localized benign proliferation of plasma cells and mesenchymal cells. We report the case of a 45 yr old male, who first presented with mild pain in the left side of the chest. Chest radiography was normal. Eight weeks later he had more pain and an opacity in the left and lower zones of his left chest. After another 7 weeks he had fever and cough with yellowish-green sputum. Chest X-ray then showed a round density in the left upper lobe. The final diagnosis was established after thoracotomy histological examination.

[Endobronchial tuberculosis].

Eight hospitalized patients with endobronchial tuberculosis are reported. Diagnosis was reached in six patients by the demonstration of acid-alcohol resistant bacilli in the bronchial aspirate. In the fifth patient microscopic examination of the bacteria in the liquid obtained by aspiration of a paraspinal abscess was positive. In the last patient diagnosis was established by the positive growth in Lowenstein's medium of lymph node extracts. The clinical, radiologic, endoscopic and microbiologic features are discussed.
