[D-Penicillamine effect on collagen synthesis and structural maintenance Red Sirius staining with polarized-light examination. The value of this staining in cases of collagen diseases (author's transl)].

A severe systemic sclerodermia has been treated by D-Penicillamine. A pathological study before and after treatment showed important changes of the collagen structure. The soluble or foetal collagen fraction is enhanced. By the Red-Sirius staining with polarized light examination of the bundles of foetal collagen are green and bright. Then, this staining appears as a marker of collagen structures.

[Acquired generalized anemic nevus].

We are reporting a case of generalized nevus anemicus in an adult, which was not associated with phacomatosis or pheochromocytoma. The pharmacological investigation of the vasomotricity showed permanent vasoconstriction in the anemic areas. The cutaneous levels of catecholamines were seven times as high in the anemic areas as in the sound areas. We have investigated a possible increase in the number of APUD by a histochemical method (Grimelius's stain). This possible increase might have accounted for a local hypersecretion of catecholamines. Our investigation was negative. No etiological mechanism can be suggested.

Vitamin B-12 induced acnes.

A type of acne induced by vitamin B-12 deserves a special place among acneiform eruptions. The eruption is monomorphic and of a particular type. It consists of voluminous folliculitis lesions which develop acutely after the first injections of vitamin B-12 and disappear rapidly when treatment is discontinued. The etiologic and pathogenic mechanisms of the disease are not know.

Chequered localized pseudoxanthoma elasticum: a variety of Christensen's exogenous pseudoxanthoma elasticum?

We report a very curious case of a condition which has never been described before. Its features are comparable but not quite identical with those of Christensen's saltpetre-induced PXE which the author considers to be an exogenous variety of pseudoxanthoma elasticum. Since our case appeared spontaneously without any accidental episode we prefer to designate it under the name 'localized PXE'. The chequered appearance of the lesions seems to be the characteristic feature of the disease.

[Annulus migrans and bacterid of Andrews].

A case of annulus migrans associated with a Pustular Bacterid of Andrews is presented by the authors. The relationship between annulus migrans and psoriasis is discussed.

Pili torti with congenital deafness (Bjornstad syndrome): a case report.

We report Bjornstad syndrome in a 5-year-old girl with severe bilateral congenital loss of hearing and pili torti. The mode of inheritance of this rare syndrome seems to be heterogeneous. A maternal uncle of the patient was deaf from birth and his hair had shown the same abnormalities at the same age; an autosomal recessive transmission can be assumed.
