[Camels. Origin--use--types].
This survey study reports on origin and use of camels and on the various Asian and African races, Indian camels being specially mentioned. The differences of camels for riding and for packing are stressed compared as e.g. with horses in the western world for working and for racing. It is further pointed out that in arid and semi arid areas the camel has been, and will be in the foreseeable future, not replaceable as an animal for working and transporting goods.
