Bleomycin may produce an unusual characteristic cutaneous manifestation: flagellate pigmentation. We present 2 patients, who received bleomycin for treatment of oral carcinoma and AIDS-associated Kaposi's sarcoma respectively, developing such pigmented flagellate streaks.
Shampoos contain tensioactives, densifying agents, preservatives, chelating agents, colour, perfume, water and additives. Synthetic anionic tensioactives were the most used. Cationic and amphoteric are also useful. Shampoos could incorporate additives to correct certain functional defects. A good prescription and choice is convenient to have the desired benefit and avoid hair alteration.
Two cases of metastasic alopecia from breast adenocarcinoma were reported. Clinical and differential aspects from other types of alopecia are also commented.

Solitary congenital nodular calcification of the skin is a form of cutaneous calcinosis. It appears as a small, firm nodule on the head and extremities of young infants. The histogenesis of this condition is controversial. We cared for two patients with the nodule on the ear.
We report a case of a 57 year-old male who developed atypical bullous disease and in whom an underlying carcinoma of the bronchus was found. The cutaneous eruption fulfilled the clinical, histological and immunological features of pemphigus herpetiformis. Reports of pemphigus herpetiformis and internal malignancy are extremely rare.
Dilated pore (Winer) is a not uncommon adnexal benign tumor with follicular differentiation. Clinically the lesion looks like a giant comedo, usually located on the facial area of the elderly. Due to annular elevation of the borders, differential diagnosis needs to be made with basal cell epithelioma and senile sebaceous adenoma. The histology shows a typical infundibular dilatation with subinfundibular atrophy of hair structures. The authors report two typical cases of this badly known but not infrequent lesions.
A 77 year old man, who presented cutaneous T cell lymphoma, was treated with polychemotherapy and cyclosporine. After one year, erythemato-papulonodules were seen on the face, neck and trunk. Histologic examination showed specific infiltration myelomonocytic, bone marrow examination revealed the same characteristics. The patient died one month after the diagnosis. We comment the association between these two hemoproliferative processus.

Contact dermatitis, allergic or irritative, is not distributed by chance among the general population, but appears in a determined group of patients. The clinical and anamnestic picture of this group of patients (and that of their close blood relatives) is described. Clinical facts lead us to consider that group of patients as a subgroup of cutaneous atopy. The medical-legal importance which the acceptance of this type of patient could have on occupational contact dermatitis is pointed out. In contact dermatitis the factors of the person suffering the contact rather than those of the contact agents seem to be of decisive power in the response, although at the present moment, the possibility of carrying out analytical studies on the allergens and irritants is easier than on the patients who react to them.
The lymphocytic infiltrate in ten cases of papular polymorphous light eruption has been studied with monoclonal antibodies. The results show that the infiltrate is mainly formed by T helper-inducer lymphocytes, but T suppressor-cytotoxic cells are also present. Initial data on appearance of OKT6+ cells in the infiltrate are considered.
Plasma cells within the infiltrate of primary cutaneous malignant melanoma have been reported as a valuable criterion for the prediction of lymph node metastases. In order to evaluate plasma cells, their prognostic significance and their relationship with other clinical and histological parameters, 132 cases of malignant melanoma (29 plasma cell positive and 103 plasma cell negative) were studied. The Breslow thickness, location, and ulceration were the variables related to the presence of plasma cells. The most important variables in predicting survival were lymph node involvement, clinico-pathological type, age, plasma cells, and lymphatic emboli. The most important variables for disease-free interval were lymph node involvement, plasma cells, and age.
Systemic candidiasis in intravenous drug abusers (IVDA) is a new syndrome caused by Candida albicans and characterized by the sequential development of skin, eye, and osteoarticular lesions, which together form a typical clinical picture. We studied 30 patients with suggestive skin lesions: papules, nodules, and pustules in hair-bearing areas, particularly the scalp and beard area, associated with hair invasion by candidal hyphae. Ocular and osteoarticular involvement and presence of candidemia in some of the patients suggested blood-borne colonization of C. albicans. The infection has been related to "brown" heroin. The origin of C. albicans and the reasons for its exclusive localization in the skin and these organs are discussed. The characteristic clinical picture is widely different from that of classic disseminated candidiasis in immunodeficient patients. Therapy is also discussed.
