[Four benzamides (metoclopramide, sulpiride, sultopride and tiapride) effects on the oestrus cycle of the female rat: a comparative statistical study (author's transl)].
The comparative study of 4 Benzamides effects on the oestrus cycle of female rats has been done. These compounds were administered once daily for 21 consecutive days (1; 0,1; and 0,001 mg.kg-1.SC) on Wistar AF SPF rats smears. Our data show that sulpiride and sultopride suppress oestrus cycle substituted by a permanent dioestrus, while metoclopramide only extend the duration of the cycle and tiapride does not influence oestrus cycle.

[Gout and hyperuricemia in Tananarive (Madagascar) (author's transl)].
Review of 41 cases observed in "Girard et Robic hospital", Tananarive (35 cases of plain articular gout either acute or chronic, and 6 cases of latent hyperuricemia).--Gout and hyperuricemia are frequently observed within Malagasy high-lands Merina population.--Women and even, in exceptional cases, children may be affected. A responsible hereditary factor is probably associated with the side effects of food habits (diet rich in rice, local vegetables, zebu meat and pork; beverages are not abundant).
