[Congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasis and hyaline membrane. Report of a case].

The case of a newborn with pathological confirmation of congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasis and hyaline membrane is reported. The lymphagiectasis corresponded to type III, with histological characteristics that make it different from other types of lymphatic dilatation. This association is quite uncommon and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute respiratory failure in the newborn period.

[Reye's syndrome: pathological aspects].

A clinical and statistical review of Reye's syndrome is made, reporting the case of a female seven months old infant with disturbances of the digestive tract associated to hepatomegaly, convulsive crises, maculopapular exanthema, extreme hypoglycemia, hyperammoniemia and high blood urea. The post-mortem study showed fine drop diffuse liver steatosis, renal tubuli steatosis, focal steatosis of myocardial fibers, generalized meningoencephalic edema and viral pneumonia. These clinico-pathologic characteristics lead to the diagnosis of Reye's syndrome, an infrequent entity in our milieu judged by national literature.

[Enteritis and its complications. Etiology and most frequent anatomoclinical picture].

A study is made of the environmental, etiologic, pathogenic, clinical and anatomical characteristics of the bacterial or parasitic enteral processes which most frequently cause death to the patients. Considerations on the pathogenesis of the complications found at the postmortem studies in children with diarrhea are likewise offered.

Diagnosis, Differential↗

[Disseminated intravascular coagulation in children under 1 year of age].

In this paper, comparison is made of the clinical with the anatomicopathological diagnosis of DIC. The review of the postmortem studies covered from March 1975 to March 1976 at Hospital de Pediatrïa, C.M.N., and the following were the conclusions: Only in 40 of the cases, the clinical diagnosis of DIC was made. DIC was seen more frequently in the neonatal stage. The anatomicopathological diagnostic criterion is emphasized. Hemorrhages and thromboses predominated in lungs. Paracoagulation tests were not useful.

[The Wilson-Mikity syndrome. Report of a case].
