[Septic complication in hip and knee arthroplasty].
The authors present the management of acute infections affecting joint alloarthroplasty. Study consist 23 patients (10 male 13 female. Age between 48-84 years). Consisting of surgical elimination of inflammated soft tissue, and granulation surrounding the joint endoprothesis, local antibiotic application and suction drenage instalation. In cases of chronic infection associated with loosening of the implant and bone-matrix destruction, dealloplasty is indicated with precise removal of bone - cement followed by, local antibiotic administration, and changes affecting the bone-matrix should be approached as posttraumatic osteitis with all consequences, related to it.

[Considerations in operative treatment of closed fractures].
The principles that ought to be followed in closed fracture operative treatment have been presented. All relevant factors of surgical management were considered, beginning from qualification of the patient with motor system trauma for operative treatment, right choice of stabilization technique, as well as appropriate soft tissue and early posttraumatic care. It was emphasized that, even a "technically perfect" stabilization of fractured bone pieces using the right technique gave no guarantee of success if soft tissue care was inappropriate, inadequate was limb blood supply and if treatment of infection complicated cases in the early stage was solely limited to systematic antibiotic administration.

[The treatment of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis in children and young adults].
On the basis of own experiences and literature from last three years authors presented the role of surgical treatment in children above two years and young people, suffering from acute haematogenous osteomyelitis. Conservative treatment should be limited to these cases, where we can see a quick recovery, reducing of the pain and decreasing of the level of CRP and ESR. The presence of subperiosteal abscessus, positive bacteriological culture from blood and other complications (i.e. staphylococcal pneumonia), are the absolute indications to decompression of the medullary cavity, and local application of antibiotics.

[Osteomyelitis concomitant with psoriasis].
The paper presents a case of child suffered from osteomyelitis concomitant with psoriasis. Similar clinical and radiological course was observed in another two cases. The disease was chronic, recurrent and school children were affected. Normal temperature and increased blood sedimentation were observed. Enlarged of metaphysis, "marbled" structure of the bone with many little osteolitical focus and thickening of cortical bone were observed, too. This disease was progressive and the whole of the diaphysis was affected. Pus was never found during operation. The bone was fragile sclerotic in some places, with thickened periosteum. Histopathological examination indicated chronic osteomyelitis. Bacteriological examination was always negative. The treatment performed usually in acute osteomyelitis wasn't effective.
