Chloro(mu-6-methylpyridine-2-carboxylato)bis(6-methylpyridine-2-carboxylato)triphenylchromium(III)tin(IV) chlorotriphenyltin(IV).

The title compound, [CrSn(C6H5)3(C7H6NO2)3Cl][Sn(C6H5)3Cl(CH4O)], was obtained from the reaction of Ph3SnCl with the complex [Cr(C7H6NO2)3] in methanol. The structure contains [Ph3SnCl(MeOH)] (A) and [Ph3SnClCr(C7H6NO2)3] (B) molecules. In molecule A, the Sn atom of Ph3SnCl is coordinated by one methanol molecule. In molecule B, the Sn atom of Ph3SnCl is coordinated by one carboxylate O atom of [Cr(C7H6NO2)3]. Molecules A and B are connected through an O-H...O hydrogen bond between a carboxylate O atom and the methanol OH group. Weak C-H...Cl interactions and O-H...O hydrogen bonds extend the components of (I) into a two-dimensional network.

A dinuclear complex of cobalt(II) with 2,2'-(1,4-butanediyl)dibenzimidazole.

The title complex, [mu-2,2'-(1,4-butanediyl)di-1H-benzimidazole-kappa2N3:N3']bis{[2,2'-(1,4-butanediyl)di-1H-benzimidazole-kappa2N3,N3'](nitrato-kappaO)cobalt(II)} dinitrate ethanol disolvate, [Co2(NO3)2(C18H18N4)3](NO3)2.2C2H6O, was obtained from self-assembly of cobalt(II) nitrate with 2,2'-(1,4-butanediyl)dibenzimidazole (L). The complex molecule lies about an inversion centre and the flexible L ligands act in both bridging and chelating modes to form a dinuclear complex with unanticipated nine-membered chelate rings. The unique uncoordinated nitrate anion is linked to the cation by pairs of N-H...O hydrogen bonds, which determine the overall cation conformation. Cation-anion sets are then linked by a further N-H...O hydrogen bond to generate a chain along [010]. Chains are linked by C-H...O hydrogen bonds to form sheets in the (100) plane.

A novel cobalt(II) coordination polymer containing the fumarate anion and o-phenanthroline.

The self-assembly of three crystallographically distinct fumarate ions, two unique cobalt(II) ions and two unique o-phenanthroline molecules results in a two-dimensional polymeric structure with the formula [Co(2)(C(4)H(2)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), namely di-mu-fumatato-bis(o-phenanthroline)dicobalt(II). The Co atoms are at the nodes of a two-dimensional array linked by coordinated fumarate ligands. Each Co atom is coordinated in a distorted octahedral manner to four fumarate O atoms and two N atoms from the chelating phenanthroline ligands.

Ammonium 4-nitrophenylarsonate.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, (NH(4))[AsO(2)(OH)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))], the 4-nitrophenylarsonate anions and ammonium cations are linked through hydrogen bonds to form infinite chains along the b axis. The hydroxyl O atom of the 4-nitrophenylarsonate anion acts as both an acceptor and a donor of hydrogen bonds. All atoms are located in general positions.
