In conclusion, the management of a wound depends on the etiology, location, and severity of the wound, along with the nutritional status and medical condition of the patient. The type of dressing depends on the vascular status, possibility of infection, environment and depth of the wound, and the capability of the patient. Each physician has a preferred management plan and choice of wound dressing. However, to maximize healing potential, consistent wound evaluation may prove to achieve the best results.
