[Results of X-ray follow-up in late silicosis].

The authors present clinical and X-ray data of 30 patients with "late silicosis" that occurred in 5-20 years after they had retired from dust-related occupation. Follow-up over 4-25 years demonstrated progression of nodular pneumosclerosis up to macronodular forms or silicotuberculoma formation. The diseases mostly developed gradually, usually was diagnosed by casual X-ray examination and was long considered as tuberculosis, sarcoidosis or other disseminated lesion.

[Value of x-ray study in diagnosis of occupational diseases].

X-ray studies play major role in diagnosis of such occupational problems as pneumoconioses and locomotory disorders. Diagnostic information obtained by contemporary imaging methods (CT, US, studies with contrast media, etc.) should be considered only addition to data of classical X-ray study with consideration of specific sanitary and hygienic work conditions.

[The diagnosis of occupational myofibrosis].

The studies proved that ultrasound and enhanced roentgenomyography are diagnostic methods of choice for occupational myofibrosis, detecting the lesions as well as their extent and severity. Comparing diagnostic value of clinical and radiologic methods proved the latter to disclose early signs of the disease.
