A middle aged man presented reluctantly to his General Practitioner with the complaint of offensive body odour and he was referred for a dermatological opinion. On examination a malignant looking ulcer emitting a foul odour was found in the site of his penis.
Three patients who rapidly developed multiple seborrhoeic keratoses and were found to have adenocarcinoma of the large bowel are described. In two cases the discovery of the neoplasm was prompted by skin manifestations.
A case is reported of a female patient who took 140 tablets of the antihistamine, mebhydrolin ('Fabahistin'), in one day for urticaria and experienced virtually no side effects. The urticaria cleared completely when her husband, who had a cardiac condition, died suddenly.
Five patients are described, four of whom developed squamous-cell carcinoma in chronic venous ulcers and the fifth developed a basal-cell carcinoma at the site of chronic varicose ulceration.
