TaON was found to be ca. 20 times more active as a visible light activated photocatalyst for the oxidation of methanol, when compared to the well studied UV-visible activated TiO2 (P25) catalyst.
Semiconductor loaded zeolite composite catalysts (5 wt% TiO2/Hbeta) have been used to photocatalytically synthesize piperazine from N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine with yields up to 59.0 mol%.
Pt nanoparticle-supported conducting nanotubules of polypyrrole prepared by a template method exhibited excellent catalytic activity and stability for the electrooxidation of methanol in comparison to Pt supported on conventionally synthesised conducting polypyrrole.
