[Morphometric analysis of lymphocyte nuclei in chronic lymphocytic leukemia].

This work is dedicated to the study of use of quantitative analysis of cell nucleus structure for the analysis of peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. The structure of lymphocytic nuclei of healthy donors was evaluated by means of staining by toluidine blue purified cell suspensions smears. The preparations were analysed on the television measuring system "omnicon" with measurements of the following parameters: square of the nucleus, euchromatin, heterochromatin, and the ratio of heterochromatin and euchromatin squares. Actuarial analysis and nuclei classification of the previously mentioned parameters showed, that in peripheral blood of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia a large amount of atypical lymphocytes is present with reduced nucleus sizes. Atypical cells retain the ratio of structural components of chromatine, characteristic to normal cells, which show their low proliferative activity.

[The physiological-biochemical properties of Klebsiella pneumoniae strains of different origins].

While comparatively analyzing the properties of Klebsiella pneumoniae from three studied sources (patients, healthy people, environment), no reliable differences between the comparable strains have been revealed. No differences have been found in the toxin formation, hemagglutinating and antilysozymic activity, adhesivity and invasive properties as well as in the peculiarities of gas exchange, while growing on media with different nitrogen and carbon sources. The studied microorganisms differed only in antibiotic resistance: strains isolated from the environment were sensitive to antibiotics, whereas strains of human origin were resistant to them.

[Magnesium salts in physiology and pathology: the potentials for their use in medicine].

This review carries literary data on a biological effect, physiological and pathophysiological significance of magnesium ions for the organism. Diseases of hypo- and hypermagnesemia and mechanisms of regulation of magnesium content in the organism are reviewed in the article. There are cited data on the use of preparations, containing magnesium ions in pathologies of the kidneys, liver, gastrointestinal tract; in diabetes mellitus, arrhythmias, hypertensions, ischemias, myocardial infarction and other conditions. There are review data on the use of magnesium-containing mineral bishofit, preparations and balneologic agents on its basis.

[The anti-inflammatory action of the mineral bischofite].

The anti-inflammatory effect of local application of a solution of the mineral bischofite was demonstrated in experiments with edema of the rat foot caused by phlogogenic agents serotonin, histamine, carragheenin, and formaldehyde. Per os administration of the solution increased the survival of mice with burns of the skin on the hind part of the body and reduced 1.74-fold the time of healing of a burn ulcer of the oral mucosa in a rabbit. The mineral bischofite stimulates phagocytizing activity of neutrophils and produces a bacteriostatic effect.
