Valuing theatre nursing.
In this paper, the constraints and opportunities for the acquisition of clinical skills within pre-registration education is considered. The impact of limited skills acquisition is discussed with reference to the author's own clinical area, theatres and postoperative recovery. A short and arguably under-valued placement is examined, and a local strategy to promote the usefulness of the theatre placement is offered.
