[The use of local iodobromine baths in the early sanatorium rehabilitation of myocardial infarct patients with arterial hypertension].

The effect of local iodine-bromine baths at the early stage of health-resort treatment on the main values of the cardio-vascular system was studied in patients suffering of myocardial infarction with arterial hypertension. It was established that local iodine-bromine baths produce a more integrative effects on the cardiovascular system than drugs. They favour the arterial pressure reduction, increase of physical working capacity, normalization of the parameters of central hemodynamics.

[Experience in rehabilitating cancer patients at sanatoria and health resorts].

The paper discusses the results of a study of the case histories of 90 cancer patients. 48 of these patients received a course of treatment including physical rehabilitative therapy, dietotherapy, mesenchemotherapy (fractionated doses of ACS Bogomoletz, zymosan, splenin), oxygen and iodine-bromine baths, mineralized water and non-specific medication (vitamins, ext. eleutherococci, methonine, cholenzyme) and psychotherapy. It is suggested that non-specific therapy generally provided at health resort establishments is indicated in radically-operated stomach and breast cancer patients who reveal no signs of recurrence or metastases. Such therapy may contribute to social and occupational rehabilitation of cancer patients.

[The combined use of electrosleep and intranasal lithium electrophoresis at the sanatorium stage of postinfarct rehabilitation].

Ninety postmyocardial infarction convalescents were treated by electrical sleep (impulse frequency 50-70 Hz) in combination with intranasal electrophoresis of 3% solution of lithium chloride to improve cardiocerebral relationships. The studies involved the clinical pattern, myocardial bioelectrical activity, exercise tolerance and cerebral hemodynamics. The results pointed to therapeutic benefit of the combination in sanatorium management of the patients.

[The use of the phonophoresis of Venoruton ointment and millimeter-range electromagnetic waves for the correction of trophic capillary failure in myocardial infarct patients].

Status of microcirculation, bioelectrical activity of myocardium and tolerability to physical loads were studied in 120 patients with myocardial infarction with capillary and tropic insufficiency, divided into four groups, over time, before and after course exposure to physical factors such as the "Venoruton" ointment phonophoresis and electromagnetic radiation of millimeter range, as well as complex medicamentous therapy, used alone or in combination. The most striking therapeutic effect was achieved with the above physiotherapeutic measures being combined.

[Effect of electromagnetic waves with 59-63 GHz frequency on myocardial infarct patients in the subacute stage].

Exposure to electromagnetic millimetric waves and placebo treatment were examined for their impact on myocardial performance, bioelectrical activity, and contractility, exercise tolerance, microcirculation, daily urinary hydroproline excretion in 166 patients with subacute myocardial infarction. Electromagnetic millimetric waves were demonstrated to exert a stimulating action on a reparative process in the myocardium.

[The use of ultraphonophoresis in the rehabilitation of myocardial infarct patients].

The action of ultrasound on microcirculation, bioelectrical activity of the myocardium, exercise tolerance and oxyproline metabolism was studied in patients with subacute myocardial infarction. To achieve a better effect of rehabilitation. it is advisable to use ultraphonophoresis of vasoactive ointments venoruton and nitro-ointment in patients having capillary-trophic insufficiency, slow repair of the necrotic zone, postinfarction inflammation in muscular and connective tissue structures of the upper shoulder girdle.
