[CT 1341 as a hypnotic in continuous peridural anesthesia of the high-risk urologic patient].

Experience with althesin as the covering anaesthetic in the continuous peridural management of high-risk urological patients is reported. It was found that althesin fully lived up to expectations, since patients went to sleep without difficulty and awoke peacefully, as though from natural sleep. The drug did not interfere with the peridural procedure in any way. Use of the technique, it is felt, should be encouraged, since it is advantageous both to the patient and the anaesthetist, to whom a liquid anaesthetic offers the only chance of getting away from the damage caused by volatile types.

Alfaxalone Alfadolone Mixture↗

[Althesin - Fentanyl combination as anesthetic in patients with Parkinson's disease].

An association of Althesin and Phentanyl succinylcholine is proposed as anaesthetic in patients with Parkinson's disease. This method has two advantages: it does not have an adverse effect on the drugs normally given to such patients, so that the postoperative neurological symptomatology is not altered in any way; its anesthetic effectiveness is allied with case of employment and a wide margin of safety.

[A "plethora", minor and transient, as an immediate cause of a cerebrovascular accident].

Even if the well-known predisposing factors play an essential role in the realization of cerebrovascular accidents, in these last years the possible importance of the hemoreologic parameters is still a topic under discussion. The authors found a significant increase of the considered hemoreologic parameters (HT, Hb, RBC) in the patients hospitalized for cerebrovascular accidents compared to controls, without differences for gender, even if this increase remained into the limits of normal range. Conversely, no significant differences were found concerning the considered metabolic parameters.
