[Fibroxanthoma of the external auditory canal].

Atypical fibroxanthoma is an scarce skin tumor which usually develops in exposed areas of elderly persons. It is very uncommon in the external auditory canal, where it might be wrongly diagnosed as a sebaceous cyst or carcinoma. We report a case of atypical fibroxanthoma of the external auditory canal and review the current procedure for the differential diagnosis of these lesions.

[Laryngeal tuberculosis and laryngeal cancer].

Account of 2 synchronic cases of tuberculosis and laryngeal carcinoma. Apart from bacteriostatic drugs one of them underwent a cordectomy the other one a total laryngectomy and neck dissection. Despite the great majority of laryngeal cancer it is compulsory to take in account the differential diagnosis with the tuberculosis, because of its possible coexistence. Perusal of national and international literature, having found only 11 of similar instances reported.

Carcinoma, Squamous Cell↗

[Granular cell laryngeal tumor].

Granular cell tumor is a rare benign tumor which when affects the larynx, it characteristically affects the vocal cords, causing dysphonia as the main clinical manifestation. The term granular cell myoblastoma proposed and extensively used seems to be inadequate since all the observations suggest its origin in Schwann cells, with no relation to muscle cells. Although the existence of malignant granular cell tumors has been reported, the vast majority show a benign behaviour, reaching its cure after complete surgical removal of the lesion.

[Osteochondroplastic tracheopathy. Diagnostic confirmation. Experience with 8 cases].

We report our experience in 8 patients with osteochondroplastic tracheopathy and consider the importance of its diagnosis y biopsy in order to confirm histology and if possible etiology, because specific treatment could change the course of the disease. Methods such as radiology, CT-scan, respiratory function tests only give diagnostic suspicion, which is a previous step before confirmation by bronchoscopy with biopsy. To date, with the exception of a few cases, the diagnosis is made by necropsy. Thus, this justifies our emphasis in the diagnosis of this rare disease when it is suspected in living patients.

[Primary laryngeal lymphoma].

We report a new case of supraglottic primary laryngeal lymphoma. The tumor was a B-cell, non-Hodgkin lymphoma with good response to polychemotherapy and radiotherapy. Although the head and neck region is a frequent site of origin of extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphomas, laryngeal involvement is exceptional. Including this case, 88 primary laryngeal lymphomas have been reported in the literature.
