[Data on establishing the MPEL for the dust of a polymineralic potassium ore in the air of a work area].

The article contains data on the norming principles for and the biologic action of polymineralic potassium dusts. The analysis and comparison of experimental and clinical data presented potassium ore as a substance characterized by low toxicity and weak fibrogenic action. In animal studies, the general toxic action of potassium aerosols exceeded the fibrogenic effects. MAC was suggested for working zone areas at 5 mg/m3 (3rd class of hazards).

[Structural organization of the microcirculatory bed of the pancreas of the domestic cat].

In 35 cats by means of methods for the blood bed injection and revealing the pancreatic islets after K. Kramlinger, R. Mayrand and N. Lifson (1979) with an additional pikrofucsin staining, the microcirculatory bed of the pancreatic lobe has been studied at light and electron microscopic level. It is presented as arterioles, precapillary arterioles, capillaries of the pancreatic islets and the exocrinic part of the gland, postcapillary venules and venules. The precapillary arterioles always branch into capillaries within the limits of the pancreatic islets. Position of the pancreatic islets, structure of the capillaries surrounding the acini, that of the postcapillaries and connected with them pericapillary and intercellular spaces make it possible for hormones of the endocrinic cells to produce local (paracrinic) effects on the cellular elements of the pancreas.

[Morphometric evaluation of the intensity of blood flow in the islands of Langerhans and of the effectiveness of controlled revascularization of the pancreas under experimental conditions].

Experiments with 68 white rats have demonstrated that, comparing to the normal, density and area of the pancreatic islets capillaries at alloxan diabetes decreases and is followed by elevation of blood suger and drop in insulin containing erythrocytes. At purposeful revascularization (splenectomy) density and area of capillary surface in the pancreatic islets increases, and diffusion radius decreases, that is accompanied by improved endocrinal function and makes it possible to estimate positively the method of revascularization of the pancreas.

[The effect of adrenaline and cyclophosphamide on the growth and blood supply of experimental Guérin carcinoma].

Tests were conducted on albino rats with experimental Guerin carcinoma. A method of the blood vessel injection and preparation of lucid and stained (with hematoxylin-eosine) sections, and determination of the density of the capillary network were used; intramuscular adrenaline injections proved to produce an inhibitory effect on the growth of Guerin carcinoma, this bein accompanied by its intensified microvascularization. Combined administration of cyclophosphan and adrenaline produced a marked antitumour effect on accout of an antiblastic actionof cyclophosphan enhanced by adrenaline. The detected direct relationship between the vascular system of Guerin carcinoma, the thickness of the capillary network and the effect of the theraputic action of cyclophospahan and adrenaline pointed to the role played by the blood supply of Guerin carcinoma in the antiblastic action of cyclophosphan in case of combined administration with adrenaline.
