[Adsorption of plasma proteins on the surface of hydrophobic polymers. Structural aspects].

The qualitative and quantitative composition of the adsorbed protein layer is determined by thromboresistance of artificial polymer surface. The adsorption of albumine and gammaglobuline from buffer solution to the hydrofobic polymer surfaces was investigated with ESR and electron spectroscopic method. The existence of two kinds of protein covering was demonstrated: reversible and irreversible protein layer. During the nitroxyl labelled globuline adsorption the spectrum of label is due to superposition of both reversible and irreversible kinds of adsorption. It was demonstrated by the electron microscopic method that the strongly adsorbed protein layer corresponds with the denaturated protein, the reversibly adsorbed protein in contrast is native. The architecture of protein layer on polymer surface was also investigated. The comparison of structural and physiological properties of serum protein is important for the investigation of the thromboresistant materials.

Adsorption↗

[New instruments for pediatric abdominal surgery].

New all-purpose instruments for abdominal surgery in children are described. Instruments are easy to use and non-traumatic. They have decreased weight and dimensions, and can be adopted for wide use in surgery in infants and young children.

Abdomen↗

[Forceps and clamps for pediatric lung surgery].

The paper describes new instruments for operations on thoracic organs in newborns and babies. The instruments are light, small-sized and convenient which provides great possibilities for their large-scale application in children's lung surgery.

Constriction↗

[Dissectors and clamps for pediatric cardiovascular surgery].

The new multi-purpose instruments for cardiovascular surgery in infants and newborns are designed. As compared to their analogues they have smaller mass and dimensions, they are atraumatic and more convenient which makes it possible to use them widely in children's cardiovascular surgery.

Cardiovascular Surgical Procedures↗

[Clamps for cardiovascular surgery of children].

Brief information on auricular clamps, rack-type clamps for temporary hemostasis of blood vessels, clamps for compressing and joining aortal ends together, clamps for catching blood vessels is given. The instruments are available in 12 types, all are atraumatic and easy to use.

Cardiovascular Surgical Procedures↗

[New instruments for pediatric cardiovascular surgery].

New instruments for heart and large vessel surgery in infants and young children are described. Instruments are all-purpose, easy to use, non-traumatic, they have decreased weight and dimensions, and can be adopted for use in child cardiovascular surgery.

Cardiac Surgical Procedures↗

[New instruments for pediatric cardiovascular surgery].

The new instruments well adapt anatomical structures of children. Such features as specific dimensions and configuration, light weight, and easy in operation make them suitable for wide application in pediatric surgery.

Cardiac Surgical Procedures↗

[Forceps for the kidney pedicle in newborn and young infants].

Medical instruments for newborns and infants are newly developed the dimensions of which carefully follow infantile anatomic and physiologic features. Instruments are characterized by small weight, flexibility, and small dimensions of working parts. This reduces tissue injuries, makes better view of the operative field and optimizes working conditions during surgery.
