Amiodarone-induced epididymitis. Report of 2 cases.

Amiodarone-induced chemical, sterile epididymitis has previously been reported. We present 2 cases who were on amiodarone therapy for refractory cardiac arrhythmia. Recognition of this side effect and treatment by lower drug dosage can prevent unnecessary antibiotic therapy and invasive urological procedures.

Liposarcoma of the perineum and scrotum.

A case of liposarcoma of the perineum and scrotum, which presented as a huge haematoma and was left in place for three years prior to excision, is presented. The patient was treated by wide excision of the tumour, orchiopexy to the inguinal region and radiotherapy. To date, 30 months following surgery, the patient is completely asymptomatic and no tumour recurrence is evident either on physical and rectal examinations or on chest X-rays, ultrasonography and abdominal and pelvic computerized tomography.

Combined Modality Therapy↗

Perinephric inflammatory process following extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.

A patient with large branched staghorn calculi was treated with ESWL. She suffered from recurrent urinary tract infections. Following ESWL she developed a perinephric abscess, which necessitated percutaneous drainage. The clinical course is described and a possible pathogenesis of perinephric abscess following ESWL is suggested.

Abscess↗

Embryonal carcinoma of testis in elderly men.

A rare case of pure embryonal carcinoma of the testis in a 63-year-old man is presented. The literature on germ cell tumours in men 60 years of age and older is also presented.

Age Factors↗

Agenesis of kidney associated with malformations of the seminal vesicle. Various clinical presentations.

Ureteral seminal vesicle anomaly associated with ipsilateral renal agenesis is a rare occurrence. Cystic anomaly of the seminal vesicle may be asymptomatic or discovered by rectal examination and cystoscopy for evaluation of bladder irritative symptoms, perineal and testicular pain, ejaculatory disturbances and rarely infertility. The condition was diagnosed in three patients with various clinical presentations.

Abnormalities, Multiple↗

Fibroepithelial polyp of the renal pelvis.

Benign tumors of the renal pelvis are rare, with less than 10 cases reported in the literature. The fibroepithelial polyp, a benign mesodermal tumor, seems to be the most common type. We report a case of a fibroepithelial polyp of the renal pelvis, and discuss its clinical features and diagnostic pitfalls.
