The presence of parasympathetic nerve supply to the thymus has been demonstrated by histochemical and immunocytochemical methods using antibodies against cholineacetyl transferase. Fine nerve fibres have been observed both in the thymic parenchyma and around the blood vessels. The role of the parasympathetic nerve supply to the thymus is briefly discussed.

Interstitial lamellae of cortical bone found in the shafts of long bones are served by systems of canaliculi shaped like a broom. The handle of the broom is crowded by canaliculi which open into a transverse communication between the longitudinal vascular canals of osteons. The existence of these systems of canaliculi has not been previously recorded. Their presence argues against the widely held view that interstitial lamellae are merely the remains of osteons which have been partially resorbed during remodelling of bone. A fresh look at the development of interstitial lamellae needs be taken.
Four stages of nasal pathology in tuberculoid leprosy is described. In every atrophic rhinitis case nasal biopsy is advocated. Rhinoscopic examination should be done in family contacts and early cases of leprosy.

The present study is of quantitative histology in immunologically intact mice inoculated with M. leprae. Total twelve sciatic nerves are studied. The fibres are grouped as large, medium and small sized fibres. Initially there is loss of small size fibres. At later stages there is involvement of all sized fibres and ultimately Wallerian type of degeneration sets in. The process of regeneration is more active than that of human leprosy of tuberculoid type. This study adds a new dimension in understanding the pathogenesis of leprosy.
