[Urethral diverticulum in the female. Case report, controversy and treatment].
INTRODUCTION: Urethral diverticulum is a rare cause of recurrent urinary tract infection in women. CASE REPORT: We report a single case and discuss controversially the different surgical treatment options. The safety of the Spence technique of saucerisation is particularly emphasized. CONCLUSION: In our opinion the Spence saucerisation technique is the treatment of choice in all cases of urethral diverticulum in the female.
