Privileging nurses in a psychiatric hospital.
A privileging system was developed for the nursing department of the Connecticut Valley Hospital, a 658-bed public psychiatric facility in Middletown, Connecticut. The authors discuss the development of the privileging criteria, how the process works, and early responses and results.
