Organization and evaluation of the malaria eradication campaign in Mexico during the first year of complete coverage.

The organization of the National Committee for the Eradication of Malaria in Mexico is outlined, and a description is given of the activities of the Evaluation Office, which is responsible for carrying out independent analyses and studies and making recommendations relative to the general administration of the malaria eradication campaign.The main work of evaluation, covering training of personnel, spraying operations, epidemiology, health education, maintenance and administration, is done in the field. Other evaluations are also made in the central office and laboratories, involving analysis of written reports and statistical data, checking of blood samples, entomological studies, analysis of insecticides, and toxicological, pharmacological and other investigations.
