BCL-2 protein is a oncoprotein considered to have an important role in the regulation of programmed cell death--apoptosis. The intracellular localization, the relation with other oncoproteins, the antioxidant function and the pathological implications are discussed.
The paper proposes systematizing of some pathogenic, clinical and therapeutical aspects in young patients with pseudofibrinous uveitis. Were analysed thirty-six patients with age below thirty years old which underwent a surgical act for cataract using extracapsular extraction and pseudophakic implant by posterior chamber. There patients were hospitalized in Ophthalmological Clinic of University Bucharest Hospital between 1995-1996. The postoperative uveitis occurred by 75 per cent, with maximum frequency at children. Clinical simple forms were prevalent and these responded very well at the treat. Were presented the therapeutical drafts used depending on clinical aspect as well therapeutical recent methods (laser ND-YAG fibrinectomy, gama TPA).
The retinopathy of prematurity is the most important cause of blindness at children and one of the most frequent cause of blindness in the postnatal period. 435 newborn prematures and dismatures, were examined in the first two weeks since they were born. The ophthalmological exam showed vasoconstriction of retinal vessels. The treatment consisted in cryotHerapy with good results. The most up-to-date method is the therapy with argon laser mounted on the indirect ophthalmoscope.
The anatomical primitive strabismus is prenatal and its characteristic is the loose in the elasticity of the muscles of the surrounding tissues. The cause is the deficit of embryogenesis, originating in the first two months of pregnancy. They are presented the clinical cases of anatomical strabismus, investigated and treated in the Ophthalmological Clinic during 10 years, the surgical techniques used and the postoperative functional and obstetrical results the ocular disturbances are intense and the debut is early. The surgery involves both eyes and the results depend on the clinical form, the restant ocular motility and the degree of fibrosis of the affected muscle.
One child four and half years old remains with a divergent deviation by forty-five degree with absence of adduction, after an operation of convergent strabismus at the left eye. Considering that is about by one postoperatorial paralytic strabismus, computer tomography praises the right intern muscle retracted at the back of orbit, but it doesn't adheres at the eyeball. It considers that the divergent strabismus was caused by the slide of postoperatorial muscle. Looking middle line of the muscle, parallel with the middle wall of the orbit, it praises the right intern muscle retracted and after the excision of the granulation tissue all round, displays the muscle with its normal lenght. It cuts 3.5 milimeters from this muscle and it practices the retroposition of the extern right muscle with 7 milimeters. It obtains postoperatorial orthophoria. It talks about possibility of lossen of a right muscle in orbit intra- and post-operatorial and the measures that are imposed in these situations.
