[Implementation of McMurray displacement in adduction osteotomy with AO-instruments (author's transl)].

Pre- and postoperative radiographs of 60 patients with intertrochanteric varisation osteotomy by using AO instruments were reviewed and measured. Obviously a combination of the varisation osteotomy with McMurray's medial displacement is either very difficult or impossible especially in cases with long femoral neck and large displaced intertrochanteric wedge. Both construction of a fixation plate for more medial displacement of the femoral shaft as well as not doing major varisation when the femoral neck is very long are discussed as alternative methods of operation.

[Bone tumours in the hip region (author's transl)].

13 Patients with bone tumours in the hip region are presented. The frequent misinterpretation auf tumours in this locality and the faulty use of diagnostic possibilities are stressed. The use of homoioplastic transplantation after a large resection is presented as a therapeutic method for discussion.

[Deterioration of the ileo-sacral joints through serious unilateral hip joint diseases (author's transl)].

Based on the clinical and radiological examinations of 95 patients with unilateral restricted movement of the hip, the deformities of ileosacral joint and symphysis are described. The pathological changes of ileosacral joints and symphysis could be demonstrated in cases with severe contractures of the hip. Low grade contractures under 15 degrees have been tolerated over many years.
