[A method of correction of macromastia with total gland removal and integration with upper pedicle skin flaps].

An original method for the correction of macromastia is presented. The advantages of radical removal of the gland when this is desirable for anatomical, pathological and clinical reasons are combined with cosmetic benefits, since breast protuberance is regained by the use of upper pedicle skin flaps obtained by de-epithelialisation of the skin that previously covered the gland.

[Reimplantation of the areola and nipple in mastectomy operations for breast carcinoma].

The technique for the application of areola and nipple in the mastectomy for the mammary carcinoma is proposed. It is pointed out that the preservation of the nipple with its areola is psychologically important for the patient. It is also showed how the application of a silicone prosthesis, volumetrically restoring the extirpated tissue, is afterwards possible. During the operation, a disk of tissue is drawn under nipple and areola and histologically tested; if this tissue certainly results without neoplastics cells, the reapplication is achieved.

[The use of misoprostol in prevention of gastric disease from nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in oral-maxillofacial surgery].

The results of a clinical experiment with a new synthetic prostaglandin for the prevention of gastric lesions induced by NSAID: the misoprostol have reported. Twenty patients were treated with this drug and the results were compared to those obtained with the use of ranitidine in the same number of patients. The clinical experiment showed an excellent misoprostol-induced gastric protection which compared to ranitidine presents the advantage of a multiple and pathogenetically oriented action mechanism.
